I know this isn’t stamp-related but I just had to post this video that brought tears to my eyes! It is a true story! (I even checked it out on Snopes.com) I took my background music off so it doesn’t detract from the video. I will add my music again at a later date.
The son asked his father, ‘Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?’. The father who, despite having a heart condition, says ‘Yes’.
Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying ‘Yes’ to his son’s request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, ‘Dad, let’s join the Ironman together.’ To which, his father said ‘Yes’ too.For those who don’t know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island. Father and son went on to complete the race together.
Get out your tissue and check out the race.
This post must come with a bigger warning like don’t watch it at work unless you want your co-workers to wonder what is wrong with you.
Truly beautiful, an amazing father and an amazing son!
What a truly amazing father who loves his son so much. Makes you remember how much our Father loves us. Thanks for posting this on your website!
Yes, the Hoyts truely are an amazing father and son team. Being from Massachusetts myself, I get to watch them on TV race the Boston Marathon yearly. I have a brother who also endured the New Zealand Triathalon and I will be sure to send him this video! Thank you for sharing – what an inspiration!!

I really do need the tissues what an amazing father
Thanks for sharing xx
What an amazing story of a fathers love for his son. With God all things are truly possible. If an earthly father shows this much love and devotion for an earthly son, how much more will our Heavenly Father provide for his children?
What a lucky young man to have that man as his father. I can feel his love for his son. He is truly an inspiration and makes me realize what a lot of work I have to do.
It truly is an amazing story. Dick and Rick Hoyt are from Massachusetts. They are icons around here. One can’t help but be touched by this story.
I have several blogs like yours that I check out for inspiration in my stamping world, but this video was a wonderful surprise. It is truly moving and motivating! What a great way to start my day. Thanks for sharing such an important message. Keep up the great work, I LOVE your blog!
