Momento Mall is a store at Convention where you can purchase all kinds of FUN Stampin’ Up products! In case you didn’t know, I have a TERRIBLE SWEET TOOTH (see previous post regarding CHOCOLATE comment…..)When I saw the cookie cutter and cookie press at Momento Mall, I KNEW I had to have them! Here are the tricks I learned while using experimenting with these.
1. I prefer the sugar cookie recipe on the sheet that comes with the cookie press. (I tried both recipes, the sugar cookie and the shortbread recipe)
2. I still prefer my grandma’s sugar cookie recipe, so I am going to try that one the next time I make these.
3. Add MORE FLOUR than you think! If you don’t add enough flour, the words will melt in the oven into a BLURB and everyone will wonder what it used to say before you baked them! LOL
4. I tried making the cookies 2 ways. First I rolled the dough in balls, dipping the balls in sugar, and then smashing it with the cookie press. That is what you see in the photo above. Then I rolled the dough out (like Christmas cut outs), then cut the cookies out with the round scalloped edge cookie cutter, then smashing with the cookie press. I think those turned out the cutest. I don’t have any photos of those because they were the cutest ones and those were eaten first.
We did more than eat cookies at my class yesterday, we also made cards! Here’s a bright “sherberty” card to wind summer down with.
