Here are my roomies at Convention! The “blind mice” are: Me (Lorri), Dawn, Melissa and Linda.
It is tradition to make room mate gifts and here they are! The notebook cover was made by Linda. Inside was a pen and notebook to take notes at Convention. She even made a coffee theme for me, knowing how much I love my coffee! Melissa made a survival kit for us. It was a bag full of things we would need to “survive” convention! Dawn made us eye shades, which you can see in the photo above. The shades have the words “I Stamp in my Sleep” embroidered on it. We sure had fun with those, as you can see!! LOL What a great bunch of gals! THANKS ROOMIES! I MISS YOU! My gift to my roomies were the witch cauldrons, which I posted a while ago HERE.
Becky Roberts and I hold our Team Meeting together at Convention. Here we are right before it got started. We had so much fun PLANNING it – that was as much fun as putting it on! We had so many silly conversations/texts/even iPhone videos explaining things! What a hoot!
Here is a gift from Becky, isn’t it darling? Lots of goodies – THANKS BECKY!! The 2nd picture below shows the back side of the easel frame.
Here are some more photos from convention! These gals are a part of my upline’s group, The Dazzling Divas! We met after all the festivities were over on the first night. We were all SO TIRED, but it was great to connect with each other again!
Here are some of my general swaps for Convention. This little sucker holder was fun to make because they don’t take very long! I found this on Dawn Olchefske’s blog, found HERE.
Here is another one of my general swaps, made with the new stamp set Pennant Parade.
Recipe: Stamp Set: Pennant Parade, Create a Cupcake (sentiment) Paper: Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Pool Party Ink: Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Pennant Punch, Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, White Baker’s Twine
One of the most exciting things at Convention was being included in Becky Robert’s Downline Get Together! I wish you all could meet Becky personally, she is one of the sweetest gals I know! Becky rented a room at the Hilton for the get together. We had YUMMY appetizers, handmade surprises, made NEW FRIENDS, and she gave us some insight and business tips to help us all in our business! PLUS Becky is HILARIOUS, and so entertaining to listen to! What a FUN AFTERNOON! We were BLESSED to be included in this get together. THANKS BECKY!
Here is a photo of Becky and I.
Becky made us all Party Favors, how cute are these! This little box was FULL of surprises!
I also received a cute little cosmetic bag with an altered notebook, fingernail file and gum holder from Becky. I LOVE IT! Even the zipper on the bag has a cute little “Inking Idaho” pull tab. You can see an even better photo of this on Becky’s blog HERE.
This is a photo of my convention gift to Becky. I made similar ones to give to my downline and you can view those again HERE.
Becky invited a few other creative gals to her get together, too. I finally got to meet Connie Collins in person! Connie is such a SWEETHEART! I knew the moment I met her that we would hit it off! Connie has an incredible blog, which can be found HERE. Did you know that Connie was chosen from THOUSANDS of Stampin’ Up demonstrators to be an Artisan Award winner? It doesn’t surprise me, she’s one of THE BEST!
Becky hosted a swap for all of us attending. Here is the card I made. I have WEDDING on my mind because my daughter is getting married in March! The cake stand is 3-D and pops out away from the card and cake. You can’t really see that in this photo.
I did a similar card to this one earlier, which you can view HERE.
Here is my 3-D swap. These little nugget purses have been around awhile. I first saw them on my friend Nancy Riley’s blog HERE. They were FUN and easy to make! There is a little Stampin’ Up logo tag on the side of the purses. By the way, NANCY is an amazing friend! I was in a PANIC before convention because I had SO MANY unfinished projects! Sweet Nancy came over for 10 hours to help me finish up! Between her 10 hours, my 10 hours and another friend (Rachele), we logged over 24 hours getting MANY PROJECTS DONE! THANK GOD for great friends!
Last but not least, Becky had asked us before we got together who we would LOVE to meet! Besides Shelley Gardner, the CEO of Stampin’ Up, these gals were the most requested! Here is Diana Gibbs to the left of Becky, and Jill Hilliard to the right! I’m not kidding, I felt like I was at the Academy Awards meeting these super creative gals!
The Control Freaks group decided to make a blog tour using the swaps we made for our group from Convention. You probably just came from Wendy Weixler’s blog!! She is an amazing stamper, isn’t she? I love all her cards but ESPECIALLY LOVE her masculine card! Gotta have that set now, too!
By the way, I am WAY BLESSED to be a part of this incredible group of stampers! You probably recognize many of these gals from the countless awards they have won at the Stampin’ Up conventions over the years!!!!
Here are the two cards I made for the swap.
The first card is a Birthday Cake pop-up card! The left photo shows the card closed. When you open the top of the card, the cake slides up out of the pocket (right photo), revealing the sentiment on the cake! When you close the card, the cake retracts back into the card pocket. I want to do a video on this card, it is simple to make, but will make more sense if I can SHOW YOU! Check back here for the video.
This card is a coffee cup, with LIPSTICK PRINTS on the top cover! We girls can relate to that, right? (My husband asked WHAT IS THAT AT THE TOP! LOL) LOVE the new kiss stamp in the new catty! Perfect for this card! When you pull the top lid of the coffee up, out comes the “coffee” card, which is perfect to put a Starbucks gift card on!
I will try to do a video for this card, too, so you can see the dimensions I used.
The next Control Freak Blog Tour stop is at Jan Tinklenberg’s blog! She is such a VERY CREATIVE gal, and was a presenter at the opening night of the Stampin’ Up party! She has some BEAUTIFUL projects you won’t want to miss!
How do I sum up 4 incredible days of stamping fun? This was my 4th Stampin’ Up! Convention, and also one of the most fun conventions there ever was! Here are some photos that will attempt to capture the moments. One of the BIGGEST highlights of the whole weekend was when my roomie, Linda and I won VIP BACKSTAGE PASSES during one of the sessions. SCORE!
Here we are with Dale and Shelly.
The night we arrived, Stampin’ Up threw a “Flower Power” party for all the demonstrators. Here we are trying to be “groovy”. (Sure wish I would have hung onto my Go-Go boots! LOL) This is my upline/downline/sideline group who went together, plus our new friend Laura! Another highlight of the weekend was seeing my friends, Kim Sinclair and Becky Roberts. We kept bumping into each other all weekend, and then to top it off, our rooms were RIGHT ACROSS the hall from each other!! How convenient was that?? (BTW, Kim and Becky are MORNING GIRLS!! I’m so bummed we missed breakfast with them because we were STILL SLEEPING!!! RAIN CHECK PLEASE!) I am in a group called “Control Freaks”. One of the afternoons we had lunch together and swapped cards and ideas. This group is about the most amazing group I know and I am BLESSED to be a part of it! Do YOU want to join our group and attend convention next year? All you have to do is email me and I can help you get started!! The starter kit is only $175 (valued at over $310!) and you can hand-pick most of the items in the kit!If you were a past demonstrator, the sign up is only $35!!!
