When I saw Mary Jo Albright’s card on SCS, I just KNEW I had to CASE this one! You can see her original card HERE. I tried to go with the same idea but make it masculine. I kept wanting to add things to it (scalloped punch, ribbon, etc.) but everytime I added something, it started looking more “girlie”. So I stuck with the basics and clean lines. I also added a close-up so you can see the acetate that simulates the window, with gel-pen lines to look like window streaks. Great idea, Mary Jo! On the inside of the card, I used the stamp that says “thought you could use a little pickup!” This was SO FUN to make!
Recipe for Card:Stamp Sets: Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories, Making TracksPaper: Chocolate Chip. Handsome Hunter, Kraft, Camo paper from JoannsInk: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Creamy CaramelAccessories: Gold Snaps (attached with cropadile), Paper Piercer, Dimensionals behind car to make it POP, Dauber around Kraft Circle
After that, I decided to decorate a mailbox tin with some leftover paper. Once again, it is hard to make these MASCULINE! LOL That is our family on the front of the mailbox (husband, myself and our 3 kids). I always have to add that because of the age difference in our kids, some people think that my husband and I are the GRANDPARENTS and the other 3 are a couple and THEIR child! LOLOur oldest son Brook was deployed on Dec. 29th. He is flying C-17’s and is over in the “sandbox”. If you think of it, say a prayer for him. We have a peace about this, and know God is watching out for him.
P.S. You KNOW that Brook, you and the entire family are in my prayers! Love you all !!!!
Lorri, Lorri, Lorri … this is so incredibly CUTE, unique and creative! What WILL you think of next, my friend?! You are truly AMAZING!!!!
These are absolutely fabulous Lorri and what an awesome thing to do for your beloved son!
I fully believe in the power of prayer and will gladly add Brook to my list.
Many Blessings,
Melissa
