Dawn Olchefske’s pouch card is really the rage this winter! She has a wonderful video tutorial on how to make this HERE. THANK YOU DAWN!!!

OnlyΒ stamping friends can relate to thisβ¦..
So one of my goals last weekΒ was to findΒ cute red hot chocolate packets. I went to many stores and they didn’t haveΒ Dawn Olchefskeβs highly recommended Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate with No Marshmallows. I saw a Nestleβs brand that was in a red box, but there was no view of what the individual packets looked like! So, being the ANAL person that I am, I got my phone out and GOOGLED the Nestle brand cocoaΒ that I amΒ holding in my handΒ to see if I could see a picture of what the actual packet looks like. No such luck. (BELIEVE ME I was tempted to just open the box to look! LOL)
β¦..sooooooooo I take my chances and buy 6 boxes of them –Β PRAYING they areΒ the right COLOR so I donβt have to return them. GOD KNOWS I donβt want to use the BLUE cocoa packets that I already have at home from a different project!
God was smiling down on me β not only were they the right color (red and brown which TOTALLY MATCHED MY PROJECT) but they were even CUTE and totally went with the theme of the project. It doesn’t get much better than that!Β A fun hot chocolateΒ pouch cardΒ with cocoa packets inside that say “MAKING WARM CHOCOLATE MEMORIES”!Β Who wouldn’t like to receive a fun card like that!
Thanks for letting me share my silly story…… Can anyone else relate? Do you ever go down the store aisles looking for treats to MATCH your projects?? LOL

And what store did you find the hot cocoa in? Thanks Lorri! Super cute!
HI Shannon, I found it at Walmart π
i too will look high and low for matching treats. knew i wasn’t the only one! LOL! i found those chocolate treats at hobby lobby (of all places). had been searching wherever i was at the time and had come up with nothing even similar. i had resorted to another type of cookie i was going to pkg up myself in cellophane when i ran across them at HL. hallelejah. i bought three containers. i want to make lots of those cards. they are the cutest and make great co-worker gifts.
Oh, I’m glad I’m not the only one who hunts for “matching” items for my crafts! Other people just don’t understand, LOL! What I do in that situation is buy ONE box and open it right in the store (or just outside the door). If it is a color match, then I go back in and buy 5 more boxes. If not, then I just leave and look somewhere else. (Sometimes I put the other boxes in the cart and have it at the checkout just in case, so I don’t have to walk all the way back to that aisle.) I either buy them or put them back. No returns needed this way! π
This made me laugh. I’ve done the same thing with tea bags to match my project so I can definitely relate.
The things we under the phrase of ‘paper crafting’. I am guilty of such project matching. Your not the only one!
Lorri!
I can totally relate to the “matching” products idea. When I first began scrapbooking about 18 years ago I used to say to my kids,”Hold that pose for a photo…I have a sticker to match what you are doing!”
I Love this Hot Chocolate Pouch card. I’m super sad I was unable to attend
π
Thanks for the shout out Lorri!
So glad you found some matching cocoa packets π
So cute! I love the message and the house on the packet. It would be cute message to put on the inside if I can’t find similar packets along with the Christmas Lodge stamp.

Lorri, LOVED your story!! I can totally relate to the “trying to match” the project. This made me smile. I also made Dawn O’s hot cocoa packet a couple of weeks ago (http://stuckonstampin.blogspot.com/2012/11/christmas-spectacular-part-two.html) I think I like yours better than what I came up with, though! π Thanks for all of your beautiful creations!
Hey Lorri, I can so relate to your story. For me it was green candy canes to make the little Grinch treats. Remember those? Do you know how hard it is to buy just green candy canes? I had to buy several packages of Jolly Rancher flavored candy canes which included pink and another color just to have enough for the number of Grinch treats I wanted to make. What we crafters will do to complete a project. It’s either dedication to our art or we are a little loco. Could it be both?
Where did you find the chocolate covered peppermint sticks? I must know! π I’ve been searching high, low, and everywhere in between, for those. Cute project, great job!! I am so happy I stumbled upon that tutorial too!
Hi Lyza, Sorry I just now saw your comment. I found the peppermint sticks at Hobby Lobby by the checkout counter. π
