I was inspired by Shelly Godby’s card I saw on Pinterest and finally tracked down her blog and post HERE. I changed it up a bit with some current products (however, the bandaged part of the gingerbread is retired). I made the cookie sheet by scoring twice 1/8″ apart from each other, and then punching with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
The products used are at the bottom of this post.
Here are some more Thailand photos! I’m still a bit jet-lagged!! It was totally worth it, though!
This photo above was taken at the entrance of our resort. There’s all kinds of creatures there! Some of them (like this one) will make you jump!
One of the trip highlights was the Elephant Sanctuary! Here we are feeding these beautiful animals! There is a big controversy over there with the elephants! Many are being rescued and brought to this safe haven, where they won’t get abused anymore. When they are trained so you can ride them, they are quite abusive to them. We had to watch a video on it, so we would understand why they formed the elephant sanctuary. Many people shed tears while watching the video when you see what they do to the animals!
If you know me well, you know I LOVE themed anything! Especially gifts! My sweet friend, Becky Roberts, celebrated a birthday this month. I always have a hard time keeping Halloween out of her birthday because it falls in the fun month of October.
Becky loves office type things, so here’s what I came up with!
You may recognize the mummy card from a previous post HERE. I just added some lines behind the mummy using the stamp “Writing Notes” so the card would go with the theme. I also stamped on the envelope and used “Labeler Alphabet” to stamp her name on it.
I picked up the marker board at West Elm. You can also serve food on and write what you are serving on it (cheeses, meats, etc.)
The bag I picked up at Hobby Lobby, then sewed Pool Party and Real Red lines on it. I cut “becky” out with my Silhouette machine and ironed it on the bag. Super fun to make! 🙂 I saw the bag idea on Pinterest HERE.
This is the fastest card I think I have ever made! This little mummy has some muslin knots tied on to him.
Many people ask how I tie such small knots/bows. It’s so simple, just keep the ribbon on the spool (or in this case, keep the 1/4″ ripped muslin LONG), tie the bow or knot, AND THEN trim. SIMPLE!
Hope you are all enjoying the fall weather! It’s in the 70s here in AZ, so you know what that means – sweaters and boots! LOL
Here’s a fall card for y’all! I just love the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set. That is definitely the most inked up stamp set I have for the season this year!
See if you can catch how I made the “Happy Fall”. You can see in the supply area below I used the stamp set You’re Sublime. Ink up the word “snappy” on to Delightful Dijon card stock. Then take your Stampin’ Write Marker (thin side of marker) and extend the “n” in snappy so it forms an “h”, then cut the word “happy” out. Do the same for the word “follow”. Turn the “o” into an “a” and cut out the word “fall”.
There are so many cute cards that can be made with Cookie Cutter Halloween! Here’s another spooky Halloween card!
I brayered the embossing folder (the side the bricks are raised), then positioned the card stock in the embossing folder, then ran it through the Big Shot. That’s how you get the mortar in the bricks!
Be sure and stamp the bats BEFORE you run it through the Big Shot!
There are dimensionals behind the window frame AND the window sill.
Here are some more photos from our Cozy Craft Retreat. We had a surprise birthday celebration for one of our attendees, Denise Fuller!
We also had a photo booth that night, and here’s some gals getting SILLY! I’m not sure I have ever laughed that hard before!!!Here is a Halloween card – Cookie Cutter Halloween is my favorite Halloween set this year.
Here’s a silly photo of everyone who attended! Sue Parker photo-shopped two gals in who went to shop in Flagstaff. What a fun group of girls…….
Here’s a Halloween project we made at the retreat. I LOVE the syringe pens filled with “BLOOD” for Halloween! Aren’t they FUN? I found them on ebay HERE.
Erica Cerwin used these last year and made a cute little holder for them, so I CASED her pattern HERE. (It’s a VIDEO, YAY!) Erica is such a creative stamper!!!!! Loved getting to know her even better at Founder’s Circle last year!In addition to our regular Make and Takes, there were also 3 break out sessions of classes offered. Here are the gals at the Stamp a Stack class, where they each made 20 cards.
We had a nice bonfire the first night, complete with s’mores!
The COZY CRAFT RETREAT is this weekend! I am beyond excited for this event, that has been in the making for quite some time! THANKS for all of you who are attending, especially those who flew in for this event!!!
More photos will follow…..but for now I need to keep loading up my car!
Here’s a fun little box for some Halloween treats! I found the tutorial for this little gem on Pootle’s blog, which can be found HERE. Have you discovered Pootles (Sam Hammond)? She’s an amazing creative gal that I got to meet on the Stampin’ Up Incentive trip on the Mediterranean cruise this year!
Here’s a photo of us at one of the shows. You will lose track of time on her blog, BEWARE!
