Tomorrow (June 14th) is the deadline for the Summer Sampler Class!
Gina designed this beautiful sampler, which will be great to showcase all summer long! The lighthouse has battery operated lights behind it!
We are hosting this class in Phoenix, AZ. We are so sorry, no online kits will be available. However, if you would like the PDF tutorial for this Summer Sampler kit, please email me at LorriHeiling@gmail.com and I will send you information on that.
DATE: Saturday, June 24th
TIME: 9am-1pm (approximately) CLASS FEE: $30 NOTE: Class does NOT include frame
This is a pre-paid event, please send payment to LorriHeiling@gmail.com via Paypal, using Friends and Family option
My daughter and her husband are celebrating their 5th Anniversary by going on a Hawaiian cruise, so I thought it would be fun to give her an early birthday gift! We are sending them on a Hawaiian luau excursion, and of course, I had to have a cute way to present it.
I bought some Bath and Body works products to put inside the bag, they had a candle from there that actually had the word Luau on it!
The pineapple was hand drawn and cut out with my Silhouette machine. The hula girl and “Aloha” word was cut out with a download from the Silhouette store.
To create the card, I used the stamp set “Writing Notes” (retired) and made the criss crosses on the pineapple.
Here’s another sampler by Gina Shappa, my incredibly creative downline! We are teaming up again and offering a SUMMER SAMPLER CLASS! You won’t want to miss this – what a beautiful piece of art to display through the summer season! Gina is known for working a set of battery operated lights into her samplers. I LOVE how the lighthouse lights up!
This project is 12×12. The size will be larger, depending on what size frame you use.
There will be some SLIGHT variations to what you see because we are waiting to order NEW product on June 1st!!!
This is a local event. If you are unable to attend the class, kits are available if you are able to come and pick up, but no stamping will be done on the project, due to Stampin’ Up’s policy.
DATE: Saturday, June 24th
TIME: 9am-1pm (approximately)
CLASS FEE: $30 (frame not included in the price)
RSVP DEADLINE JUNE 15TH
Please email me if you would like to sign up and I will send Paypal instructions. THANKS GALS!
Here’s a couple of treat containers, one of them was a pillow gift at the weRETREAT. I found Erica Cerwin’s video tutorial on how to make these HERE. The thing I LOVE about this pattern is you can make the back piece as long as you want it, to fit whatever treat you put inside!
As I said earlier, the theme of the retreat was Summer FUN! All my make and takes were “Cool Treats” related. Here’s a little ice cream stand! The awning is scored at 1/4″ and 1″.
Those face coasters are a HOOT! Here are some more photos from our photo booth on Saturday night!
Here are some cards using the Butterfly Thinlit! The color combinations are endless using this sketch!
Just stamp the card (I stamped off for a more subtle look). Then set the butterfly framelit on top of the Whisper White card stock. Cut the butterfly out, then re-attach it to the front of the card using Glue Dots. I also bent the wings back a little bit to give it a 3-D look!
Pallet board is so “in” right now, I thought I would incorporate that look into a card!
This was my “cruise swap”.
The smaller piece of Marina Mist card stock is 5″ x 3 3/4″. I stamped the sailboat and sun on the card stock, then sponged (or direct ink pad to paper) with Soft Suede ink, followed by Craft White.
Then I cut the card stock apart in 1 1/4″ pieces
Sand the edges and ink the edges (I have a distressing tool to make all the edges distressed, but you could use a nail file as well)
Here’s a couple of cards using the same ideas as the sandwich that I used in my picnic themed project HERE. I just shrunk down all the sandwich items from the pattern to fit on the “plate”.
The stamp set used (to make the plate) is “Kind and Cozy”. The sentiment is from the “Yippee Skippee!” stamp set.
I made the miniature silverware using my Silhouette Cameo.
Here’s a project I’ve been working on this week! This is a birthday gift for a VERY SPECIAL FRIEND of mine, Nancy Riley! It is a “picnic themed” gift. The items are placed ontop of a picnic style platter. Also included are napkins, cupcakes (grilling theme), a pincic basket with goodies inside, and a sandwich card!
The picnic basket and card patterns were from Lynn Pratt, whose blog can be found HERE. Lynn has AMAZING creations!!

Well TODAY is the day my project and tutorial hits Craft Project Central! I had such a fun time designing these summer themed projects! When the card is closed, it looks like a suitcase that is ready for VACATION! When you open the card up, the tent pops open. You can even slip a gift card on the inside of the tent! Also included is a water bottle that looks like insect repellant, and a camping first aid kit. FUN FUN! I hope you enjoy these projects!
This project is a BONUS project in Craft Project Central. Click on the link HERE to find out the details and requirements on how you can get the tutorial for this JULY BONUS PROJECT.
