weSTAMP Swap – CRASH LANDING!

This month the theme for our weSTAMP swap is “Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving”, card or 3-D. How about BOTH! Here’s a 3-D card I came up with. Even though the witch legs and broom stick out, it can all be folded to one side and it fits in a medium sized envelope!

I saw Jennifer Eby’s “Christmas Door” on Stampin’ Connection (visable only by Stampin’ Up demonstrators on the Stampin’ Up website). I decided to make my door with a Halloween twist.

Inside of card: Recipe:
Stamp Set: Wicked Cool, Woodgrain
Paper: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Punches (Decorative Label, Curly Label, 1 3/4″ Circle, 1/2″ Circle), Brad, Waffle Paper (for broom), Dimensionals (front panels on door are POPPED), Distressing Tool, Daubers

Most of this you can just kind of figure out by viewing the card. Here’s a few more helpful hints:

Witch Hat: Scrunched and distressed to simulate the “CRASH”, make 3 slits in the witch hat so you can put the broom and legs in this piece BEFORE taping it to the door

Door panels: Dimensionals behind them to make them POP. I used daubers and inked the edges of the door panels to make them stand out more.

Broom: Stick is 2 3/4″ x 1/8″ wide. Broom end is waffle paper wrapped around the end a couple times, then cut to make the fringes. I just used Tombo glue to attach it to the broom end. Scrunch the end that is closest to the broom.

Witch Legs: Legs are 2″ x 3/8″ and cut out of black cardstock. I cut tiny strips of orange paper and glued them to the legs to make her stockings. Stick the legs into the witch hat slits that you already cut and tape to the back side of witch hat. Bend the legs so they stick out perpendicular to the door.

Witch Feet: If you have Google Reader, you can upload the feet (and 1/2 circle window on door) HERE. I cut out 2 feet per leg so it looks good on both sides. The witch leg is sandwiched inbetween the 2 feet. To make the buckle, cut 4 squares 1/4″ x 1/4″ out of Elegant Eggplant. Then 2 smaller black squares to go inside the buckle. I used 2 buckles per shoe, again, so it looks good on both sides.

Door Knob: Punch 1/2″ circle out of Chocolate Chip paper, then pierce a brad through the circle. Attach to door front with a glue dot.

Nautical Baby Card with Video Tutorial!

Here is the nautical card that I posted yesterday, along with the video tutorial. I just got a new camera, and I think the quality of the taping improved (but the quality of the presenter didn’t improve! LOL)

Hope you enjoy it! I tried posting the video already this morning and the video was cut off a bit on one side. In case you can’t see the full screen on this post, please click HERE and you will see the full view of it. Sorry about that, I am still trying to learn how to do this video stuff! (Is there anyone out there who knows why it cuts it off on my blog, but not on the YouTube site????)

July weSTAMP Meeting

weMET, weSTAMPed, weATE, weHADFUN! I LOVE weSTAMP! Here are some photos from our gathering this week. Four from our weSTAMP group went to convention, so most of our meeting was spent sharing all the things we learned, plus all our goodies!

Leah started us off with a darling make and take, featuring the new Level 2 Hostess Stamp Set, Apple Blossoms. THANKS LEAH! Everything is NEW on this card! Don’t you just love the new In-Colors? Here’s a photo of our group. Do you notice anyone missing? (Besides sweet Rachele and Leah, whose heads got cut off in the photo!) Our other fearless leader, Nancy Riley, could not make it this time. Her daughter, Allie, was in a terrible accident, which was life threatening! You can read the details on Nancy’s blog HERE. Please continue to pray for Allie’s complete recovery. Allie is home now and Nurse Nancy is tending to her.

Here’s a photo of Allie Riley, isn’t she BEAUTIFUL? God bless her!

If you remember my “Sweet Scoops” card (found HERE), you can see I used the same folding technique for this card. The punched monkey part of this card I found on Stampers Showcase, which is a website available to Stampin’ Up demonstrators. That’s why I can’t put a link here, but her name was Nicole Papolio. She was so sweet to email me the sizes of all the punches she used on her monkey.

Recipe:Stamp Set: On Your Birthday, Tropical PartyPaper: Whisper White, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Basic BlackAccessories: Straw, Dimensionals, Brads, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, LOTS of punches! Here they all are: Head: 1 3/8″, 1″Ears: 1/2″, 1/4″Eyes: 1/4″Mouth: Small Oval (used that for the lips, too, just punch it twice close to each other, then nip off ends when you layer it on the other oval). Put a dimensional on his mouth to make it pop from his face.Body: 1 3/8″, 1″Hands, Feet, Tail: FreehandSentiment: Word Window, Modern Label

Last but not least, Linda B. made this AWESOME door prize! I wanted to win it SO BAD because I thought it would make an awesome tote for my swaps at Convention this year! Melissa was the lucky winner.

weSTAMP TROPICAL EXTRAVAGANZA!

We have been anticipating this weSTAMP meeting for over a month now! We decided to do a TOTAL night of stamping, and here is the project we made.

Thanks to Becky Roberts, we had a really FUN pattern to use our new Island Oasis Designer Paper! We used Becky’s PURSE-ONALLY PERFECT NOTES tutorial, which can be found on her blog HERE. Her patterns are incredible! They have large, detailed photos of every step so you can easily duplicate her projects! THANKS BECKY!

The theme of the evening was TROPICAL, so as the stampers arrived, they got a little “Island Welcome.” NOTE: Check out the little beach bags next to the purse. I happened to see Gretchen Barron’s blog the other day. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to CASE them for our party tonight! You can find her blog HERE. I also saw these on Patti Lee’s blog, which can be found HERE. You’ve got to check out her blog, too! She even has a matching straw hat to go with this bag!! Thanks for the inspiration gals!

We had a great time tonight…..it was so fun to stamp a fun girlie, SUMMER project. We ate WONDERFUL tropical food, and had the best time catching up with everyone. What an awesome group this is. March weSTAMP Meeting

One of the highlights of my month is getting together with our weSTAMP group. We sure have a great time sharing each month – not only with our LOVE of stamping, but just “doing life together”. These gals are truly such a blessing in my life!

Please see my previous post, which can be found HERE. You will read about our swap theme, which was a sketch. One of my favorite things about sketches is you see SO MANY different takes on one drawing. Look at the diversity in these cards from one simple sketch! Here they are!

After the Shoebox swap, we had good ol’ fashioned HOMEMADE ICE CREAM with a gazillion toppings. I have some photos below as EVIDENCE that we had a great time.

February weSTAMP Swap Chocolate Bunny Basket

Here are my swaps for the weSTAMP meeting we have tonight. The theme was “spring or Easter” card or 3-D item. I did a chocolate egg box, featuring the chocolate bunny stamp you have seen me using quite a bit. More photos will follow after our SWEET SCOOPS PARTY!!

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Chocolate Bunny
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea DP, So Saffron
Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Pretty in Pink and Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Scallop Trim Border/Scallop Edge Border/Flower Trio Punches, Brad, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Easter Grass, Chocolate Bunny Treat

To make the “rope-like” handle, I just punched a 1″ x 8″ piece of cardstock. Make sure your scallops are opposites on each side. Then I took a marker (creamy caramel) and made a line connecting each side to make it look like a rope.

I also included the pattern below. If you would like it true to size, please email me and I can send you the free pdf so you can just print it. My downline (Melissa Sunde) just made life easier for me!! She told me how to save the pattern on the internet so you can find it here. If you have have a google account and are signed in, just click HERE and you can print the pattern. THANK YOU MELISSA!! (Melissa’s blog can be found HERE.) I think this link only works if you have a Google account. If you are having trouble, just email me and I will get the pattern to you.

Please let me know if I can help you with any of your stamping needs, or if you would like to order any products. You can find my Stampin’ Up! website HERE, or email me. I would love to help you out!

January weSTAMP Meeting

What can I say, weSTAMP, weROCK! Had such a great time last night with my stamping friends. I tell you, when weSTAMP gathers, it is hard for me to get to sleep that night! I am so energized by these gals and the awesome ideas we share together! Want to come join us? Or just visit a meeting and see what all the buzz is about? Give me a call or drop me an email, I’d love to share my Stamping Story with you, and how you, TOO, can be involved! Even if you are an out-of-towner, you can still be a part of weSTAMP! We will keep you informed, PLUS you can join us in our monthly swapping!
Ok, commercial is over…..onto our meeting! The first thing we always do is a make and take as the gals are arriving. Patti showed us how to make these DARLING little flowers out of a small strip of paper, an eyelet border, and some sticky tape! You can see what they turned out like by looking at Jenn’s swap below. We learned how to do this at Regionals in PHOENIX this year! They are fun to make and will be great on cards.

Here are some weSTAMPERS at work.

The swap theme this month was any card using something from the Occasions Mini Catalog, or Sale a Bration catalog. To view these catalogs, please click on the icon to the right.

Here are the swaps!
